MIRI: Due to the spike in Covid-19 cases, Miri Hospital has converted its general ward into a special Covid-19 ward.

In a statement released on Saturday the hospital has also postponed all non-emergency surgeries, but emergency surgeries will be carried out as usual.

The hospital will be contacting all affected patients to inform them of the postponement of their elective surgery.

Patients who have appointments at the specialist clinics will also be informed of changes on their appointment dates.

In addition, the hospital also called for the cooperation of patients’ families to limit their visits to the hospital during this period.

It also said that senior citizens, those with chronic diseases, pregnant women, and children below the age of 12 are not allowed to enter the facility except for emergencies.

The hospital’s visiting hours are from 12.30pm to 2pm and 5pm to 7pm every day.
