SIBU: Sibu Division Health officer Dr Teh Jo Hun said that hospitals still provide vaccination for people bitten by dogs.

He said this when contacted by New Sarawak Tribune yesterday.

“Dog and cat vaccination (anti-rabies vaccination) will restart after the movement control order (MCO),” he said.

A rabies case, which was also the first to be reported this year, has been detected in the state involving a five-year-old girl from Sibu.

The girl had been bitten by a stray dog in early March at Jalan Sentosa here and died at Sibu Hospital on March 26 due to rabies infection.
