MIRI: As part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme, Dynasty Hotel Miri distributed 100 Gawai hampers to underprivileged members of society here yesterday (May 25) in conjunction with the upcoming Hari Gawai Dayak celebration.

The hotel’s managing director Tony Pui said the Gawai goodies giveaway event was jointly organised by the hotel and the Sarawak Welfare Department.

This year, 100 recipients out of 1,459 from all over Miri division who attended the event received their Gawai’s hamper and cash amounting at RM100.

“Those unable to attend the programme would have RM100 credited into their bank accounts,” he said.

The annual event has been held for the last 22 years.

Apart from Gawai, the hotel has also disbursed financial assistance during Hari Raya, Chinese New Year and Christmas seasons.

Also present was Miri Welfare Department officer Pengiran Mohamad Najib Pengiran Mohamad.
