MIRI: Police detained a man, who is believed to be the mastermind in a series of house break-ins here today.

In the operation, Criminal Investigation Department (CID) personnel, led by Inspector Fredly Juing, also detained a woman and two other men from separate locations in connection with the case.

The arrests were made in Permjaya and Desa Senadin.

During the arrest, CID personnel also discovered and seized items believed to be stolen properties.

Among the seized items were a flat screen TV, several branded shoes, hand bags, luggage bags, electronic items and foreign currencies.

With the arrest, police believed they have solved seven house break-in cases, including the latest case reported involving a kindergarten where items worth some RM10,000 went missing last Monday.

Initial investigation revealed that the suspect (mastermind) would drive a lorry to the houses for his accomplices to stuff the stolen items before fleeing the scene.

The mastermind is believed to be involved with ‘Gang Toni’ and ‘Gang Richard’ that were detained by the cops during operations carried out on October 3 to October 7.
