KUCHING: A house fire broke out at the Lorong Bayor Bukit 2, opposite of BSN Bank here yesterday.
According to the state Fire and Rescue Department, after receiving an emergency call at 9.37 am, a team of firefighters from the Tabuan Jaya and Batu Lintang fire stations was promptly despatched to the scene.
“Upon their arrival, they discovered that the fire had affected a two-story terrace house, which had incurred 80 per cent damage from the flames, while the adjacent houses on both sides had experienced five per cent damage due to smoke.
“There were no reported injuries to any of the occupants involved.
“Using three hose streams, each 100 feet long and equipped with three nozzles, in conjunction with pump machinery and water sources from nearby fire stations, the firefighters effectively brought the fire under control by 10:20 am,” it said.
The firefighting operation was officially concluded at 12.19 pm.
