Lights On @ La Promenade, Saturday, 6.30-10.30pm, aims to showcase the peace and calmness of La Promenade at night.

KUCHING: Property developer Hock Seng Lee (HSL) is organising its first ever night time sales event at La Promenade tomorrow (Oct 17).

The programme, ‘Lights On @ La Promenade’ will be from 6.30-10.30pm at the newly opened Convertible House inside Precinct Luxe, the second phase development of La Promenade.

“Lights On is an idea from an architect we worked with. Recently, while IDC Architects was putting final touches on Convertible House, they showed us photographs of all lights on.

“It was beautiful, even in the photos. A night sales event has been on our minds since,” HSL corporate affairs manager Shirley Loo said.

IDC Architects principal Tina Lau said large spaces – a feature of the Convertible House offers numerous configuration opportunities.

“It was our aim to show how spaces can be interpreted in a multitude of ways. In multi-generational living, homes should be flexible and customisable to end-user needs.

“We didn’t want to just take away permanent walls and rooms — we wanted to show ‘walls’ could be a rotating full-height shelf or movable screens.

“This is ‘duality’ of use from one single element demonstrates how good designs create possibilities rather than limitations,” Lau said.

Meanwhile, HSL property development general manager Tay Chiok Kee said public interest in La Promenade is growing.

“The township is maturing in landscape and products on offer. La Promenade is also growing in terms of public awareness. Last weekend, 198 groups visited Convertible House over two days.

“We received a dozen bookings for across all house types — superlink intermediate and corner, and bookings for three-storey duplex in Precinct Grande, which is under-construction,” Tay added.
