KUCHING: The senior team of Kuching FA have bolstered their squad with a newly-signed member who is the former Brazilian import striker from Sarawak FA.
Team president, Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman disclosed on Sunday the signing of Hudson Dias, 29, as the leading striker to spearhead the team in their attack.
“We have been interested in taking Hudson as our player for the upfront position. However, he was still tied under contract with Sarawak FA.
“After a few discussions with Sarawak United FC president Datuk Posa Majais, Hudson finally joined our team,” he said in an interview at the Kuching FA thanksgiving ceremony here at Merdeka Palace Hotel here on Sunday
Asked whether he put high hopes in the squad for the Premier League 2020, Fazzrudin said he would like to see improvement and development of the players, particularly the junior (President Cup) squad.
“Our goal for the Premier League 2020 is that the senior squad can at least get into the FA Cup and Malaysia Cup semi-finals or finish at the top four or six in the league standings to retain Kuching FA in the league,” he added.
The squad qualified for the league after ousting Sarawak FA in the playoff to emerge runners-up in the M3 league last season.
Meanwhile, the team also unveiled the four new jerseys to boost up the squad’s performances in the forthcoming league this season.
Among those present were Kuching North City Commission (DBKU) Mayor Datuk Junaidi Reduan and Sarawak United FC president Datuk Posa Majais.
