KUCHING: Some community leaders have lent help in support of the fire victims of 10 Kabong shoplots that were destroyed in a blaze on June 29.
Leading the delegates to lend monetary aid to the victims in Kabong yesterday was president of the Federation of Moral Associations Sarawak, Temenggong Kueh Aik Seng. He led a team consisting members from Sri Aman, Betong (Chan Chu Chu), Sarikei (Chong Han Long), Saratok ( Pemanca Lim Guan Ang) and Bintangor ( Lim Tiing).
Kueh handed over a total aid of RM50,000 to Kapitan Ho Thung Kie and Penghulu Lim Kheng Huat, the representatives of the victims.
Separately, there was a handing over event which was witnessed by Deputy Minister for Women, Early Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development Mohd Razi Sitam who is also Saribas assemblyman and Kabong assemblyman Mohamad Chee Kadir.
