KUCHING: A husband and wife who were involved in the collision occurred at Jalan Semarak, Kuching were finally arrested.

According to the Kuching deputy police chief Supt Merbin Lisa, the suspects were arrested four hours after the collision that occurred in the area on Sept 12 at 5:20pm.

The arrest was made following the report made regarding the incident where a motorcycle ridden by two local men collided with a compact vehicle driven by a 29-years-old husband and wife who are also local citizens.

“It is believed that due to a misunderstanding between the suspect and the complainant, the suspect had slapped the complainant and caused him to suffer minor injuries,” he said.

Following the arrest and reviews on the suspects, the police found that the husband has seven past records involving crime and drugs while his wife has three criminal and drug records.

“Therefore, they were remanded until Sept 17 for further investigation,” he said, adding that the case is investigated under Section 427 of the Penal Code and Section 323 of the Penal Code.
