KUCHING: Ibnuqaldoon Mohamad Shukor has indeed made Sarawak proud, becoming the first Sarawakian to represent the Malaysia e-sports team at the Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in Hanoi, Vietnam in May.

The 20-year-old from Kampung Lalang, Gedong managed to secure his slot in the e-sports event Free Fire.

Netizens, including ministers, have taken to social media to congratulate Ibnuqaldoon.

Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri was one of them. “This is a huge success in the Batang Sadong parliamentary constituency in the field of e-sports,” she said.

“Congratulations once again. May this success of yours be an inspiration to the young people out there. Good luck and all the best,” added Nancy, who is also the Batang Sadong MP.

Free Fire is a multiplayer battle royale mobile game, developed and published by Garena.

It is an online-only action-adventure battle royale game played in third-person perspective.
