SIBU: The Member of Parliament for Igan, Ahmad Johnie Zawawi says he is ready to face the upcoming 15th general election (GE15) if he is re-nominated to defend the seat.

“If the party leadership selects me again, I am ready for it as I have been the wakil rakyat for the constituency for the last four years where I have been servicing the people regularly.

“I have also fulfilled the constituents’ requests. It is only the bigger matter that needs the attention of the government to implement them,” said the MP from Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) when by reporters after officiating at the ‘Pedun Likew Igan Kubu 2022’ on Monday.

Ahmad Johnie also foresaw that the upcoming election would again be a multiple cornered fight for the Igan seat.

“It will definitely be a multiple cornered fight as the Opposition does not want the government side to win the seat uncontested.

Upon being asked on the comparison between the upcoming GE15 and the last one held in 2018, the first term parliamentarian said that the only difference this time is that there will not be any big issue as compared to the 2018 election.
