BETONG: The Land and Survey Department here foiled an attempt by unscrupulous individuals to extract rocks without permit on Saturday (July 18).

The illegal activity was detected through initial intelligence as well as patrols carried out by the department’s enforcement team.

The enforcement team seized from the site three heavy vehicles as case exhibits.

The case will be investigated under Section 32A State Land Code (Chapter 81).

Following that, anyone who wishes to do dredging or transfer of rock material is advised to first refer to the nearest Land and Survey Office to avoid any enforcement action.
