Sarawakku Sayang Special Assistance
KUCHING: Inconsistencies in the list of Sarawakku Sayang Special Assistance (BKSS) single aid recipients was the reason behind the delay in processing the applications.
“We have to cross check the list as there are errors in there. There are instances of single recipients expecting to receive BKSS but did not get it as they are not in the B40 category.
“In one case a single person was supposed to be under the B40 group, but in another list from another agency, he was listed as a director of a company, so he was not classified as B40,” said Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg.
He said this during a press conference to announce BKSS 4.0 at Wisma Bapa Malaysia today.
Abang Johari said the list of recipients who were eligible for BKSS aid was based on a list provided by the Inland Revenue Board (LHDN), adding that there were processes that needed to be adhered to in distributing the aid.
State Secretary Datuk Amar Jaul Samion whose office was tasked to distribute BKSS aid by the state government said the list of recipients issued by LHDN was cross-checked with more than 20 government agencies.
“The recipients of BKSS will be based on the information by LHDN as they have the comprehensive list. LHDN will also cross-check if there are inconsistencies.
“There are instances where the list issued are not the same as the old list as there are those who no longer qualified of BKSS,” he said.
