KUCHING: The election manifesto for the upcoming parliamentary polls by Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) will be inclusive to all, views the coalition’s chief whip Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof.

He said inclusivity has been a main pillar of the state government’s policy as witnessed through the Post COVID-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030.

“I think it will be all inclusive and will cover various aspects. One aspect we can see (in PCDS) is ensuring the social wellbeing of the people.

“Social wellbeing also includes the elderly. For the Satok area, there is an Elderly Activity Centre (PAWE) which was initiated by the Premier.

“So, we have a specific strategy (in regards to social wellbeing). Not only for the elderly but for all layers of society,” he said.

He said this when met by reporters after officiating at the Senior Citizens Day at SK Rakyat, Jalan Haji Bolhassan here today.

Fadillah said he could not reveal the contents of the GPS manifesto adding that an announcement will be made on when it will be launched.

“The elderlies have contributed a lot in the development of this country – they were the ones who fought for independence and not only they assisted in our administration but also in terms of the development of the people,” he said.

Fadillah who is also the Petra Jaya incumbent said for the constituency, his service centre will continue to support activities involving the elderly.

“Our country is heading towards having a boom in elderly population and we must give them the necessary support as they lead their lives,” he said.
