KUCHING: The Normah Medical Specialist Centre (NMSC) is hosting an open day tomorrow (Aug 12) to increase the local community’s healthcare awareness.
The event, held as part of its 35th anniversary celebration, will run from 7.30 am to 1 pm, is open to the public. It will provide valuable insights into various aspects of healthcare while promoting awareness about preventive measures.
The hospital said it will focus on health education, early disease prevention, introduce support groups available for different purposes, and wellness and supplement options.
“We aim to create an educational and immersive experience centred around healthcare awareness, prevention, and community support.
“Through this event, we are committed to nurturing a healthier community by providing valuable insights into health and wellness,” it said in a statement.
The open day will feature among others, various organisations like Social Security Organisation (PERKESO), National Population and Family Development Board (LPPKN), Kuching Apple Talent Development and Welfare of Special Need (KATSN), and Organ Procurement Unit (UPOH).
Visitors will have access to an array of complimentary health services, including free mental health screenings, free eye check, free dental screenings, free diet and nutrition consultations, free basic health screenings, and free microcirculation tests to assess blood circulation.
Among other activities are blood donation drive, children’s fun and games, food bazaars, flea markets, food trucks, balancing tests, informative exhibitions and workshop, pop-up kiosks, talk shows, dialogues, and lucky draw.
