KUCHING: More people are coming forward to register for the Covid-19 vaccination through the manual registration process in Dalat.

Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women, Family and Childhood Development Minister Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah said so far 92.4 percent of the 11,468 residents there have registered to receive the vaccine.

“After discussions with district officers and the community leaders to register manually in the second round, the registration increased to 92.4 percent of those eligible to be vaccinated.

“According to the 2020 E-census population, a total of 11,468 residents in Dalat are eligible to be vaccinated,” she said during a recent visit to Dalat.

The Dalat assemblywoman said a mobile vaccination team was also mobilised to expand the immunisation process apart from setting up a vaccination centre (PPV) at Stadium Perpaduan Dalat.

She said that as of June 30, the number of people who had received the first dose was 8,790 and of that total, 735 had received the second dose.

The Dalat District Disaster Management Committee is targeting all eligible recipients to receive the first dose of the vaccine in July and the second dose in August.

Separately, Fatimah visited a car park project at Pasar Dalat which was recently completed under the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) at a cost of RM500,000.

She said the new car park which could accommodate 37 parking bays for cars and another 37 bays for motorcycles would help solve the parking problem in the area.
