KUCHING: An incubator will be built in Satok constituency to assist youths who are starting their Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).

Satok assemblyman Datuk Ibrahim Baki said the proposed incubator is in line with his focus on building more human capital and economic sectors in the area.

“Since it is hard for the youths or those who want to set up their business to find office space, this incubator will facilitate them such as registering their company, holding meetings and so on.

“Prior to that, we need to find a suitable place to set up this incubator,” he said, adding that he will also try to help graduates to secure jobs.

He said this after his Christmas meet and greet programme at Rubber Road here yesterday (Dec 24).

Ibrahim explained that the human capital development plan was a continuous legacy left by the former Satok assemblyman and Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.

“As I have mentioned in my manifesto before, I will continue his legacy and continue to prosper this area along with its development.

“Abang Johari has ‘whispered’ to me to oversee this area, hence, I will follow with what has been planned for this constituency,” he stated.

He also mentioned that there would be more affordable homes built to tackle the shortage of such houses in Satok area.
