Indonesian envoy calls on Abang Jo

KUCHING: Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg received a courtesy call from Indonesian Ambassador to Malaysia, His Excellency Hermono at Wisma Bapa Malaysia, Petra Jaya on Wednesday (Oct 13).

It was Hermono’s first meeting with Abang Johari and the envoy’s inaugural visit to Sarawak.

When met by reporters after the meeting, Hermono expressed hope for lasting good relations between Indonesia and the Sarawak government towards enhancing social harmony, education, economy, trade and tourism for both sides.

Hermono also thanked the Malaysian government especially the state of Sarawak for providing and channelling assistance to Indonesians here during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Also present were Indonesia’s Defence Attache Colonel Tri Andi and other members of the envoy’s entourage.
