KUCHING: Fishermen and farmers in the Tanjung Datu state constituency have benefitted from the input assistance given by the state government.
In revealing this, Tanjung Datu assemblywoman Datuk Amar Jamilah Anu said among the assistance given were fertilisers for pepper and oil palm to farmers as well as fishing equipment to the fishermen.
“The Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) state government is always concerned with the well-being of the fishermen and farmers,” she said after attending a symbolic presentation of the input assistance to the fishermen and farmers on Friday (Oct 22).
Jamilah said 69 farmers received the pepper fertiliser assistance; 828 bags of fertiliser worth RM68,482 were distributed.
She added 2,796 bags of oil palm fertilisers worth RM227,664 were distributed to 248 recipients
“Meanwhile, 282 fishermen received their equipment worth RM2,000 each through the input assistance. The total amount of equipment was RM564,000,” she said.
During the function, Jamilah also released 5,595 sea bass fish seeds in Sg Batang Kayan Lundu.
Also present were Lundu District Officer Gustian Durani, Kuching Division agriculture officer Chong Mui Sia and Lundu district agriculture superintendent Mersat Senada.
