Insaniah Carnival deepens Muslim students’ understanding of Islamic education

KUCHING: The Insaniah Carnival, organised by the Pendidikan Islam and Bahasa Arab Committee of SK St Thomas, was celebrated with grandeur at the Merdeka Palace Hotel here last Saturday (Feb 3), aiming to deepen Muslim students’ understanding of Islamic education.

The event, attended by 300 students, featured various activities, including Quran recitation, Arabic calligraphy, Qasidah performances, and an angklung presentation, according to a statement on Monday (Feb 5).

Graced by Datuk Idris Buang, Deputy Speaker of the Sarawak Legislative Assemblyman and Muara Tuang assemblyman, the Insaniah Carnival received contributions from federal Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek and Idris to support enrichment activities of the Pendidikan Islam and Arabic Language Committee of SK St Thomas.

“The success of the event is attributed to the collaborative efforts of SK St Thomas, the Parent-Teacher Association, and the local community.

“May the spirit of unity continue to strengthen among the diverse communities and religions in Sarawak.”

Also in attendance were Atiqah Syairah Shaharuddin, political secretary to the Education Minister; and Dr Les Met, deputy director (school management sector) of the Sarawak Education Department.
