ECONOMIC ACTIVITIES SOP

BINTULU: Police will lead a special committee responsible for ensuring owners of premises and traders here comply with guidelines for the reopening of economic and social activities, as set by the State Disaster Management Committee.

Bintulu Resident Jack Aman Luat said the committee would work with other agencies to carry out the integrated operations.

“Traders found to be non-compliant with the standard operating procedures (SOP), particularly in terms of cleanliness and health, will be subjected to strict actions,” he told reporters after chairing a meeting at the Bintulu Resident’s Office here.

On another note, he disclosed that as of Tuesday, his office had received 749 notifications to reopen economic activities around Bintulu.

“Traders are strongly encouraged to submit notifications online which are much easier. However, manual notifications are still welcome.

“In the meantime, buyers are advised to make payments through SarawakPay, Boost, Fave, GrabPay or any other e-wallet applications and are strongly encouraged to purchase goods via online,” he added.
