KUCHING: The Pujut Link Interchange will  open to the public by the end of this month, said Transport Minister Datuk Seri Lee Kim Shin.

“The Public Works Department (JKR) Sarawak has informed that the flyover will be opened to the public at midnight on March 30.

“This will reduce traffic congestion experienced by users of the line since the construction of the Pan Borneo Highway (LPB) began,” he said.

He was met by the reporters during a working visit to the flyover on Friday  together with JKR and the contractor.

Lee disclosed that the JKR would be closing some of the existing intersections. He said the public would have to make a U-turn at the intersections provided.

On the public’s application for the construction of a traffic light interchange near the Vista Perdana area, he said   construction work would begin in April.

“Following this, the public is advised to adhere to the traffic management plan that will be provided by the contractor when the construction work begins later,” he added.
