MUKAH: Internet connectivity remains a problem for children to have access to education.

Shahida Marishmudin, a teacher at Tabika Kemas Bruan Besar here said that internet connectivity is an issue for children to have proper learning activity,

“I have been here for eleven years, and access to the internet has not been very good.

“Despite having an internet booster, the internet connection is still zero.

“I would need to knock on the students’ door, to teach and give them printed materials”, she said.

She added that the preschool students’ knowledge of the internet here is miles away compared to preschool students living in the city.

“It has certainly been difficult to have internet access here.

“For me to receive information regarding the students’ education I would need to go out of the area to receive internet connection”, she said.

However, she took the opportunity to thank Petronas for building the Tabika Kemas.

Petronas allocated RM1.18 million to construct eight Tabika Kemas throughout the Matu district. Tabika Kemas Bruan Besar was one of them.

Marishmudin added that previously classrooms were much smaller, and the students had to cram in one place.

“For instance, if students were to go to the toilet, they had to go out of the class, which was not safe, thankfully now, there is supervision and toilets are all inside”, she revealed.
