BARAM: The people are reminded to put the internet to good use because like a double-edged sword it can kill.

“The internet is like a knife. When we cook, we use a knife to chop vegetables, slice fish, and so on. But if a knife is misused, it can kill,” said Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg.

Speaking at a press conference after officiating at the launch of Sarawak Rural Broadband Network (MYSRBN) at Long Terawan here yesterday, Abang Johari expressed a desire for the internet to be utilised for beneficial purposes.

“Use it for your own good and the good of society. Don’t slander people or incite violence and hatred,” he said.

He brought up this matter as it is related to the development of internet networks across the state.
