KUCHING: An Australian investor has expressed interest in investing in green metal manufacturing facility in Sarawak.

Following this, the Deputy Premier of Sarawak, Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan, recently met with the investor who was interested in setting up of the said facility.

Awang Tengah, who is also the Minister of International Trade, Industry and Investment, Second Minister of Natural Resources and Urban Development also welcomed the company’s interest to invest in Sarawak, and the Ministry is committed to facilitate the company on their proposal.

In a press release, it said that investors are increasingly drawn to Sarawak as an investment destination due to various comparative benefits including the availability of green hydropower.

This advantage can be leveraged to strive for carbon neutrality should the company decide to adapt it into their production.

Meanwhile, agencies such as Regional Corridor Development Authority (RECODA), Sarawak Energy Berhad (SEB), Northern Region Water Board (LAKU), The Department of Environment (DoE), Natural Resources and Environment Board (NREB), Petroleum Sarawak Berhad (PETROS), Bintulu Development Authority (BDA) and others were present at the meeting with the Deputy Premier to facilitate the company.
