KUCHING: The venue for the Malaysia Day celebration has been shifted from Padang Merdeka to Stadium Perpaduan.
This was decided at a meeting chaired by Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan yesterday, according to Unit Komunikasi Awam Sarawak (UKAS) in its FB Page posting.
The decision was taken in view of the current haze condition and that the haze was expected to last for another week or so.
Awang Tengah is scheduled to call for a press conference to officially announce the change of venue for the celebration today.
