KUCHING: Deputy Chief Minister Tan Sri Datuk Amar James Jemut Masing has urged that Hornbill Skyways Sdn Bhd pilots be given the Covid-19 vaccine as soon as possible.
He said he was surprised that the pilots, who are flying ministers all over the place, had yet to be vaccinated.
“The pilots are among the frontliners. They should be given the vaccine,” he said on Monday (June 7).
Masing raised his concern that should the pilots be quarantined because of Covid-19, the aviation company would be immobilised.
“So, it is hoped that the Sarawak government can take the vaccination of Hornbill Skyways pilots more seriously.”
According to the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee in its daily Covid-19 report on June 6, Hornbill Skyways was among the locations exposed to Covid-19, listed under the workplace category.
The date and time of exposure was stated as May 31, from 8am to 5pm.
