MUKAH: The number of people who have registered for Covid-19 vaccine in this district is quite high, said Balingian assemblyman Abdul Yakub Arbi.

However, he did not give any estimated figure when making random comparison with other areas in Sarawak.

Nevertheless, he called on the people here in his constituency who have not registered for Covid-19 vaccine to do so as soon as possible.

“I also call on the community leaders to help tell the people under their jurisdiction, particularly those who have not registered, to do so,” he said when handing over minor rural project (MRP) grants to 19 recipients at Balingian constituency Service Centre here today.

Of the total recipients, 11 were village development and security committees (JKKKs) while and eight were surau as well as mosques.

18 surau and mosques altogether receiving an allocation of RM60,000.

Abdul Yakub said only some recipients were invited to collect the cheques today in ensuring full compliance with the standard operating procedures (SOPs).
