KUCHING: The Malaysian Family Aspirations Tour (JAKM) programme in Sarawak has received a favourable response from the community here.

Senior Minister of Public Works Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof said with the event falling on the weekend, it makes it easier for the public to attend.

“I am very grateful to the community because they gave a very good response and I was informed that more than 19,000 visitors came for this programme so far.

“Therefore we also expect more people, especially those who live around Kuching because there is also a lot of information available here including on government assistance, business and more,” he said.

The Petra Jaya MP said this when met by the media after visiting the JAKM exhibition booths at Dataran Perayaan, Stadium Perpaduan Petra Jaya, today.

In this regard, he added that the programme of selling basic necessities at cheap prices also received a good response from the community.

“I was also informed that many people queued to buy basic necessities … on average they are quite happy and some are even willing to sit on the floor just to wait their turn,” he said.
