Japanese govt study award open for application

KUALA LUMPUR: The Japanese government’s Young Leaders’ Programme (YLP) scholarship for the year 2020 is now open to those interested to pursue their Master’s degree courses in Japan. The Japan Embassy in Malaysia said the applications will be for five programmes commencing from October 2020 to September 2021.

The courses offered are Master of Business Administration at Hitotsubashi University, Master of Law at Kyushu University, Master of Healthcare Administration at Nagoya University, and two courses at the National Graduate Institute for Foreign Policy (GRIPS). The two courses at GRIPS are Master in Public Administration/ Master in Public Policy (School of Government) and Master in Public Administration/Master in Public Policy (School of Local Governance).

Eligible candidates must be Malaysian citizens with a first degree and are 40 years old as at Sept 1, 2020, have a good command of English language, and have had at least three years of working experience.

Approximately 242,000 yen (RM9,600) worth of monthly allowance (subject to change) will be given during the term of the scholarship, while fees for the entrance examination, matriculation and tuition at the universities will be exempted.
