SIBU: Twenty participants attended the Mandarin Speech Workshop organised by Junior Chamber International (JCI) Mandarin Sibu at Sibu Bus Terminal Li Hua Hotel Meeting Room recently.

President of JCI Mandarin Sibu Boston Ho was also present during the one-day workshop.

According to the organising chairperson Christina Lau, the speaker for the workshop was Qubee Chee from Kuching, a debater and speaker who has actively participated in many speech and debate tournaments.

She said Chee also acted as judge in various tournaments.

“This workshop is aimed at practically improving speech skills and confidence in public speaking.

“It incorporated a range of activities including dissecting the speech topics, structuring a speech and practical exercises with ample opportunity for participants to practise their public speaking,” she explained.

Lau also pointed out that JCI is a global leadership development organisation for young active citizens aged 18 to 40, with a vision to provide leadership development opportunities that empower young people to create positive change.
