KUALA LUMPUR: Reigning Super League champions, Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) have decided to acquire national leftback, Muhammad Syazwan Andik Ishak from Kuala Lumpur.

JDT sporting director, Martin Prest said, they have open negotiations with the Johor-born player after the latter decided to terminate his current contract with Kuala Lumpur due to two months of unpaid salary.

“We will discuss with Syazwan on whether he wants to return to the Southern Tigers. The club hopes to reach an agreement with Syazwan as soon as possible,” Prest was quoted as saying in JDT official Facebook page.

On Friday, Muhammad Syazwan in his Instagram site revealed that he decided to leave Kuala Lumpur after the team reportedly failed to pay his salary in November and December last year. The 22-year-old player had previously play for JDT II from 2016-2017 before moving to Kuala Lumpur, last season.

His sterling performance with the national squad at the 2018 AFF Suzuki Cup has drawn interest from several local teams to acquire his service. – Bernama
