TATAU: Thirty-nine longhouse Village Development and Security Committees (JKKKs), Parent-Teacher Associations (PTAs) and associations in the Kakus constituency received an allocation of RM971,000 under the Minor Rural Project (MRP).

Minister in the Premier’s Department Datuk John Sikie Tayai said the MRP allocation will go towards implementing development projects and various activities, including those in the longhouses.

“I hope that every JKKK and association receiving this MRP will utilise it properly and transparently,” he said during the MRP handover ceremony at Tatau District Office recently.

He reminded the attending Tuai Rumah (longhouse chiefs) who received the grants to hold meetings with the longhouse residents to inform them of the amount of funds received.

At the same time, he stressed that the meetings should also discuss individual longhouse plans.

Present at the ceremony were Tatau District Officer Jabang Juntan and Tatau District Pemanca Gerosen Jubin.
