BAU: Police here arrested an unemployed man for possessing drugs worth more than RM700.

The arrest happened around 3pm, Tuesday (March 9) in front of an unnumbered house at Kampung Apar, Singai.

District police chief DSP Poge Nyaon said a Bau NCID team spotted the 28-year-old man outside the house and detained him for inspection.

“The team found a plastic packet containing powdered drugs believed to be syabu, weighing around 5.03g and valued at RM750.

“The man and drugs were taken to Bau NCID office for further action.”

A background check found that the man had a criminal history, and he also tested positive for drug abuse.

DSP Poge said the man would be remanded to facilitate investigation under Section 39A(1) and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
