Jobless man fined for trespassing

MIRI: An unemployed man was fined RM800 in default one month’s jail by the magistrate’s court here for trespassing into a house in Jalan Pujut last November.

Magistrate Kasyfurrahman Abang Ahmad sentenced Jefri Jess Kudi Geruna, 24, of Pujut Corner, on Tuesday after he pleaded guilty to the charge.

Jefri was charged under Section 447 of the Penal Code, which carries a maximum of six months in prison or a fine of up to RM3,500 or both upon conviction.

Earlier, during mitigation, Jefri, who was unpresented, appealed for a lenient sentence.
