KUCHING: An unemployed man was arrested for theft of a motorcycle rim and tyre in front of Everrise, Jalan Matang last Sunday.
Padawan district police chief Supt Aidil Bolhasaan said that they received a police report from the complainant at around 6pm on Sunday.
The complainant found that his motorcycle parked in front of Everrise building, had its rim and tyre missing.
The complainant then went through the closed circuit television (CCTV) footage in Everrise and saw the thief in action.
“The following day (Aug 10), a team from Padawan Crime Investigation Division (CID) arrested the 34-year-old thief in Taman Sri Matang around 12.40pm.
“Also seized were the motorcycle rim and tyre, a sweater and the man’s vehicle,” he said in a statement.
Aidil added that the man who do not have any criminal record, admitted to such crime.
The individual is currently remanded to facilitate investigations under Section 379A(1) of the Penal Code.
