BAU: Two unemployed men were arrested for drug-related offences here on Wednesday (June 23).

Bau OCPD DSP Poge Nyaon said both suspects were detained in two separate operations.

The first was arrested near the Fairy Cave tourist spot after he was spotted behaving suspiciously in a car parked by the roadside.

“A sling bag placed on the dashboard was found to contain a small transparent plastic packet with a crystallised substance suspected to be syabu weighing 1.45g.

“He also tested positive for methamphetamine abuse later,” DSP Poge said on Wednesday (June 23).

The 28-year-old suspect was also later found to have failed to appear in court in relation to a drug-related charge. He has an arrest warrant issued by the Bau Magistrate’s Court.

In the second arrest of the day, the suspect also tested positive for methamphetamine abuse.

The first case is being investigated under Section 12 (2) and Section 15 (1) (a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 while the second case is being investigated under Section 15 (1) (a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
