JOHARI TO MAKE FIRST VISIT TO KAPIT AS CM

KAPIT: In conjunction with his inaugural two-day official visit here from tomorrow until Wednesday, Chief Minister, Datuk Amar Abang Haji Johari Tun Openg will be officiating the earth breaking ceremony of the proposed SK Sg Kapit Bridge here.

The bridge will link the school to Jalan Bukit Goram.

Kapit Resident, Joseph Belayong Punan revealed this while chairing the final committee meeting on the Chief Minister’s visit held at the State Office Complex conference room here.

The Chief Minister and his entourage are expected to touch down at the landing pad at Dewan Sri Baleh at 3.00pm tomorrow.

They will be warmly welcomed by the people here led by Deputy Chief Minister, Tan Sri Datuk Amar Dr. James Jemut Masing and Deputy Minister of Rural and Regional Development, Datuk Alexander Nanta Linggi.

The entourage will include Johari’s wife, Datin Amar Dato’ Hajjah Juma’ani Tun Tuanku Haji Bujang, Deputy Chief Minister, Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas and his wife, Datin Amar Doreen Mayang, State Cabinet Ministers and Assistant Ministers.

After their arrival, the Chief Minister and his entourage will be feted to a high tea reception before visiting the various booths manned by government agencies at the Civic Centre.

In the evening, Johari will be attending a Leaders Meet The People Session at the Civic Centre.

The session will be attended by political leaders, community leaders, heads of the government departments and political party members.

On Wednesday morning, the Chief Minister will officiate the earth breaking ceremony of SK Sg Kapit Bridge before visiting Fort Sylvia here prior to his departure for Kuching.

Meanwhile, his wife, Juma’ani will present schooling aid to 435 pupils at SK Kampung Baru.
