MUKAH: Joseph Sakai is among several Melanau singers here who will vie for awards in the forth coming state-level Music Awards on Dec 2. The artiste of mixed parentage will submit four songs for the event, called the Inaugural Sarawak Music Awards Finale 2017, to be held at Dewan ACS Stampin, Kuching.
Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg is expected to officiate at the event. The awards will be divided into three categories namely, Melanau Popular Songs, Malay Popular Songs and Other Popular Songs.
Other Melanau songs submitted are: Serba Salak by Raymond Enyau, Akou Sadar and Dudai Jangai (Sabri Halim), Cemburu Terus Cemburu(Su Ahmad Zaidi),Takdir and Jerou Jenasang (Feeqah Mdanis), Joget Bilem Manih, Sai Kuduk Gak Giyien and Hancur Harapan (Awang Kasuma Jaya). Vyving for Malay
Popular Song sare : Autophobia (Eagle Crown), Rosly Dhoby (Ambushed Band), Sembilu (Zani ) , Lagu Tanda Tanya Cinta (Irfan Hamdan), Padam (Eyqa), Tetap Setia (Vibe), Indah (Matahari), Tega (Callis Band), Jauh (Notatari) and Biarkan Saja (Charlene CJ).
