Journalists association holds CNY photography contest

MIRI: In conjunction with the coming Chinese New Year celebration, the Northern Sarawak Journalists Association (NSJA) is organising a photography contest.

According to NJSA president Andy Jong Wan Joon, the contest, titled ‘Sayangi Miri Tahun Baru Cina 2022’, would open for entry submission from Jan 18 to Feb 18.

“All entries would be uploaded to NSJA’s Facebook page for judging until Feb 28,” he said on Tuesday (Jan 18) after a courtesy call on Miri mayor Adam Yii.

All entries must be submitted to nsja.miri@gmail.com.

“Participants must also include their name, IC number, telephone number and their email  address. There’s no entry fee.”

Participants are encouraged to take photos related to Chinese New Year decorations. Each participant can submit up to five entries.

Winners will receive cash prizes, a certificate and a bag of rice.

First place is RM500, second place is RM300 while third place is RM200. Fourth place is RM150.

Two consolation winners will get RM50 each.

Jong disclosed that the winner for most like and most share would receive RM150.
