MIRI: The Northern Sarawak Journalists Association (NSJA) will be organising a blood donation drive on September 19.

According to the programme chairlady Michelle Choo Lee Nyuk, the blood drive will take place at the Malaysian Red Crescent (MRC) Miri chapter building at Jalan Bulan Sabit here at 8.30am until 1pm.

The event is a joint effort by NSJA, Miri Hospital, MRC Miri chapter, Shen Shun Lee Trading Sdn Bhd, Indocafe and Julie’s.

Choo said every successful donor will receive a pack of five-kilogramme rice (first 50 donors), face masks, Indocafe and Julie’s products, and a certificate of appreciation.

Meanwhile, NSJA president Andy Jong Wan Joon said the campaign is aimed to ensure sufficient blood supply at the Miri Hospital blood bank.

“Miri Hospital needs blood supply to meet its usual needs, especially for emergency cases,” Jong said.
