MIRI: In the spirit of volunteerism, the Northern Sarawak Journalists Association (NSJA) on Sunday (Sept 12) jointly organised the Malaysia’s Day Blood Donation with the Malaysia Red Crescent (MRC) Miri Chapter.

The event aimed to nurture the spirit of volunteerism while promoting awareness of the importance of donating blood to those in need.

Present at the launch of the one-day event held at Miri Red Crescent Training Institute at Jalan Bulan Sabit here was Transport Minister, Datuk Lee Kim Shin.

Also present were NSJA’s president, Andy Jong Wan Joon and MRC Miri Blood Donor Recruitment Committee deputy chairman, Cr Karambir Singh.

Lee, when met later, thanked NSJA for collaborating with the MRC Miri Chapter in organising the blood drive. He also applauded the association for being actively involved in community service.  “During the Covid-19 pandemic, we can see many people or organisations helping to those in need in the spirit of volunteerism,” he said.
