SONG: The National Registration Department (JPN) has launched the JPN Mobile Bus to provide mobile services under its ‘Program Menyemai Kasih Rakyat’ (MEKAR).

According to Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS) in a news report on Tuesday (March 8), the symbolic launching was officiated by Katibas assemblyman Lidam Assan and JPN Malaysia director general Datuk Roslin Jusoh.

Roslin stated that the bus is equipped with a MyKad printer and allows for the MyKad replacement process to take only 30 minutes.

“The MEKAR programme is implemented to help the rural community who face constraints in going to JPN offices for their affairs.

“Besides providing services in the application of identity card, replacement of identity card, birth registration and extraction of birth registers among others, our team is also providing advisory services.

“This is important to ensure that the locals know what are the processes in the event of a birth and so on,” he said during a press conference after the launching at the waterfront compound on Monday (March 7).
