JTS bags four gold awards at technology expo

Lands Tahai Q Group receives the International Alliance of Innnovation and Invention Association Award at MTE 2024.

KUCHING: The Land and Survey Department (JTS) has received four gold awards at the Malaysia Technology Expo (MTE) 2024 held at the World Trade Centre, Kuala Lumpur from Feb 22 to 24.

These four gold awards were obtained through two innovative projects presented by JTS at the MTE 2024, namely the Monitoring System for Survey of Land Acquisition (MOSSLA) and Flextervation, each of which was awarded the highest achievement in the International Innovation Awards (IIA) and Public Service Innovation Asia (PSIA) categories, respectively.

For the PSIA category, the MOSSLA innovation project developed by the Innovative and Creative Group (KIK) Lands Tahai Q from JTS Limbang received the Special Award from the Malaysia Technical University Network (MTUN) Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).

Bistari Tech Group receives the Japanese Intellectual Property Association Award at MTE 2024.

MOSSLA received this award for its innovation in public service digitalisation to facilitate project management for the benefit of the people.

Additionally, MOSSLA also received a Special Award from the International Alliance of Innovation and Invention Association, while the Flextervation Project was awarded a Special Award by the Japanese Intellectual Property Association (JIPA).

The IIA award was presented by Higher Education Deputy Minister Datuk Mustapha Sakmud, while the PSIA award was presented by Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation’s (MOSTI) secretary-general Datuk Dr Aminuddin Hassim.

The 23rd edition of MTE featured a total of 368 innovations from various public service organisations, innovation-based companies, technology, higher education institutions, researchers, and students from schools.

MTE 2024 also involved participation from 12 countries, including Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, China, Iran, Hong Kong, Poland, Singapore, Yemen, Thailand, and Taiwan.
