SIBU: Three children of a fireman, Mohd Sapee Julaihi were offered places at the Sarawak Orphan Children Welfare Association complex in Jalan Kemuyang here to ensure their welfare and education are more assured.

Datin Patinggi Juma’ani Tun Tuanku Bujang.

The offer was made by the wife of the Chief Minister, who is also the patron of the Sarawak Orphanage Welfare Board (Peryatim), Datuk Amar Juma’ani Tuanku Bujang when handing over contributions to the children of the late fireman at the Sibu Sentral Fire and Rescue Station today.

According to the orphans’ aunt, Rokiah Julaihi, 49, who is acting as their caretaker, Juma’ani also offered a special fund for them to further their studies until university.

“But I told Datuk Amar, I cannot decide now, it’s tough to let them go. Furthermore, we have never been far apart, especially the youngest who is very close to me now,” she said when met by reporters.

Juma’ani had advised Rokiah to discuss further with the Nangka State Assemblyman Dr Annuar Rapaee for the sake of the children’s future.
