KUCHING: The Junior Chamber International (JCI) Kuching will host the national convention on Oct 13-15 at Imperial Hotel, Boulevard Kuching.

This event is also supported by the Sarawak government, Business Event Sarawak, Tribe Legacy Sarawak and Sarawak Tourism Board.

“The JCI Malaysia National Convention (NatCon) is an annual event for members to attend the annual general assembly where the national board of directors is elected,” said Hii Chang Kee, the permanent secretary of the Sarawak Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts.

“There will be more than 1,000 delegates, including 44 foreign delegates.

“The ministry started four events in June, including the Sibu International Dance, Rainforest World Music Festival, Miri Jazz Festival, and more events are coming up,” he added.

“The ministry also supports MICE industries (meeting incentive trades for companies, convention and also exhibition).

“JCI will be one of the organisations that will took part in this MICE and we’re looking forward to more collaborations with the state government.”

There are more than 200,000 JCI members in over 124 countries worldwide. In Malaysia, there are about 3,000 JCI members from 74 local organisations affiliated with JCI Malaysia.
