MIRI: Police arrested a teenager here for allegedly posting naked videos of his ‘girlfriend’ who is below 12-years-old.
The 17-year-old suspect from Kuala Lumpur reportedly posted the lewd recordings of the child from Miri on his Instagram page.
Miri OCPD ACP Hakemal Hawari, who confirmed this, said the suspect was arrested by members of the Miri Criminal Investigation Department (CID) led by DSP Loh Wooi Kee along with several officers from the Bukit Aman Sexual, Women and Child Investigations Division (D11) on Wednesday around 9 am.
He said the suspect was at his residence at Taman Seri Keramat Tengah in Kuala Lumpur when detained by the police.
“The arrest came following a report from the victim’s mother regarding the incident.
“The suspect is currently being held at the Miri Central Police Station lock-up for further action,” he said today.
He said that the incident happened last month and it was noticed by the victim’s mother.
Hakemal added the motive for the suspect’s action was still under investigation.
“An investigation paper has been opened under the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017.”
