
KAKUS: Kakus Service Centre has distributed cheques for Minor Rural Projects (MRP) amounting to RM496,000 to 27 recipients.
The recipients include the Village Development and Safety Committee (JKKK), the Parents and Teachers Associations (PTA), non-governmental organisations (NGOs), government agencies and other associations.pta
The Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS) reported that Minister in the Premier’s Department Datuk John Sikie Tayai was present to hand over the cheques at the service centre, recently.
According to Sikie, who is also Kakus assemblyman, the allocation aimed to help JKKK and the NGOs in conducting activities in their areas and development projects in the respective longhouses.
Among those present were Tatau District Officer Jabong Juntan and Tatau District police chief DSP Jame Reis.
