Kampung Long Laput residents get dental services

BARAM: Kampung Long Laput has been selected as the third village in Miri Division to be adopted for the Program Kampung Angkat Pergigian (PKAP).

Political secretary to the Premier Charles Balan Seling, in his speech, said that the PKAP programme should be extended to other villages in the Telang Usan area so that the grassroots can get the services provided.

He said, if necessary, he would like to work with the committee to see the needs of the department in the field to provide dental services to the community.

At the same time, Balan also announced an allocation of RM5,000 from the Deputy Health Minister and also Sibuti MP Lukanisman Awang Sauni for the PKAP Kampung Long Laput.

Various dental services were implemented throughout the duration of the programme in Kampung Long Laput organised by the Miri Division Dental Clinic.

In addition to performing dental examinations, the dental clinic also held a mini-exhibition consisting of various agencies including the Department of Agriculture, KEMAS, the Department of Rural Water Supply (JBALB), the Information Department Malaysia (JaPEN) Sarawak, the National Anti-Drug Agency (AADK), the Divisional Health Office Miri, Community Centre (PDK) Eda Beran, RTM Miri and so on.

In the programme that was held until today (March 12), many villagers have registered to get tooth extraction services, teeth cleaning and so on.

Meanwhile, a representative from the Miri Division Dental Clinic Dr Franklin Richard Seling said that the PKAP would be implemented within five years in this village.

Through the programme, he said the villagers of Kampung Long Laput and its surroundings will get the necessary dental services.
