KUCHING: Ahead of schedule by 45 days, the village hall of Kampung Lubok Buan has been successfully completed and officially handed over to its Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) on Wednesday (Oct 18).

Accura Enterprise, the appointed contractor, completed the repair works at a cost of RM100,000 facilitated through the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) fund under Kota Sentosa assemblyman Wilfred Yap, who witnessed the handover ceremony earlier.

The scope of the project involved the construction of two new stores, repair of electrical wiring, installation of LED lighting with switches and a new versatile fencing system.

It also included galvanised iron posts, a stainless-steel sliding gate, brick fence wall, and a single swing gate.

During the handover ceremony, Yap expressed his gratitude to Public Works Department (JKR) officers and contractor for completing the project ahead of schedule.

He also reminded residents to stand united in supporting the development efforts of the state government under the leadership of Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.

On a related note, given the insufficient RTP funding of RM100,000 for Kampung Lubok Buan village hall’s repair, Michael Mada, the village headman, requested additional funds from Yap to address issues with gutters, roofing, flooring, and toilets.

In response, Yap will submit another application for RM100,000 under his RTP funding for 2024. This additional funding aims to further upgrade the village hall as a community centre for various activities and cultural programmes.
